Chuck,

re:Q4

I am comfortable that Intel will have plenty of capacity for 40-45M CPU's in Q4.

The key for Intel is to balance the apple cart so they have good earnings, top line growth and hurt AMD where it hurts.

If will does come out on schedule and I am hearing june for sampling and september/oct for launch then they will have enough high end margins to use timna to crush AMD's low end.

If willy is delayed then clearly AMD will be in catbird seat. Intel is having problems ramping PIII core to 1Ghz and this enables AMD a huge opportunity if Intel stumbles.

Clearly folks here are expecting Intel to screw up willy launch and volumes simply because of Intels cumine and rambus fiasco's recently.

IMHO Intel is a fierce competitor and should not be taken lightly.

I see Q4 as a watershed event. Either Intel will deliver on high end and slash and burn the low end forcing AMD to miss expectations. Or they will miss the Q4 for willy and AMD will blow out earnings due it owning high end.

Both companies have tons of capacity coming on line.

Both have major questions on infrastructure and new products.

Interesting times we live in.

regards,

Kash
