"Seagate owned what, something like 20-25% of SanDisk shares outstanding at one point? They held shares through several periods of grave uncertainty for SanDisk. And now they are selling just as earnings and revenues begin to accelerate???"

Ausdauer,

Are you seriously asking why? If so, here is a possible reason:

Maybe they are looking at the advantages of other non-volatile (non-flash) memory solutions on the horizon and decided to diversify???

Although, I think you will argue this possibility, it is worth consideration.

SEG and SNDK: Aus and thread, I admit to not reading 100% of posting here, though probably in the vicinity of 80% or more. The point: I thought the thread had concluded that the SEG transaction financing did not require SEG/VRTS to dispose of SNDK shares in order to pull off the restructuring. Did that conclusion change?

Whether SEG is responsible for the selling or not, I agree that SNDK is underperforming in the market during the last month--no bounce when the NAS snapped back to the 3800 level, and continued weakening since then, while near comparables such as SSTI have gone on to new highs.

Somewhere there is a disconnect, as SNDK prospects for the near to intermediate term look very good.

Steve

PS Aus, thanks for the note on the scanner issue. Actually, the generic feeder for the HP T45 took the photos without a hitch--but I could not get that file to be transmitted by my e-mail file.

Large block trades on Friday?

I happened to be watching SNDK on my Level II most of Friday. I agree with the Raging Bull's poster's thoughts. There were countless trades for more than 10k shares, and the price barely moved. Several times there were trades that were "flipped" within seconds for a quarter point. Someone big has been dumping, but someone else sees the value and has been accumulating. I'm not much on TA, but it is clear we are building a nice base here. I suspect we will take off again as the Nasdaq regains some stability.
