If I understand correctly, G phone have GPS functions inside and it tells to GW, where it is. Again, another no-brainer for fishermen (and other pleasure craft) most of whom already have GPS as a separate system. If G* comes up with charting software that uses data gathered from the handset, bundle some minutes, promote a cheaper two-way radio feature for other G* users (ala Nextel...) call it the "Float Your Boat" package... we just might have something here.
