I'm not sure if it exclusive to democracies - maybe even more so in other regimes? Really I think we should have another thread - one devoted to gold mining in today's environment? Maybe it exists already? We're dealing with two different cultures here - on this thread I mean

I think that will depend partly on the state of the equity market as we move into summer.

Many people think the equity market will move sharply higher again ahead of the next rate hike next week. I have my doubts this time around. Rate hikes are not bullish for equities at this point.

No one ever want's to bet the farm at the bottom... then they start averaging in as it rallies, and by the time you're 1/2 way through [long term] the move, the generally have much more risk than if they had at the beginning.
