Glenn, whose business model would you prefer to invest in...Yhoo or Amzn?

Yahoo by a long shot. One may say boodbye to Yahoo if they ever spend millions on distribution centers. I doubt they are that dumb.

I start to wonder how well the analysts understand retailing or at least the analysts that cover the internets and thet may be the difference.

I know Wal-mart is used as an example often but that is likely due to their sheer leardership in their market. Wal-mart obtains the lowest cost for their merchandise due to their leverage with manufacturers. Needs to do little advertising as a percentage of sales. Utilizes their work force well in that I seldomly see a checkout person in a Wal-mart waiting for someone to come to here or his register. Yet, net margins are very thin although total profit is good due to the huge revenue. I am sure Wal-mart is always looking over their shoulder to try and prevent the next firm doing to them what they did to Kmart.
