Mike, regarding your strength training:

I don't argue that limiting the amount of
time spent at the gym doing weight only helps,
but as for myself, I must divide it to three
sessions for major body groups: lower body,
chest & triceps, back & biceps.

How do you compare your results to, say, 20 years
ago. Is it true that after 30, our muscle capacity
goes down?

Amir

mike, interesting article with what appears to be sound advice. do you follow the concept of eating between 3/4 to 1 gram of protein per lb of weight? the better approach appears to be per lb of lean body mass. two folks with the same lean body mass that get the same amount of exercise need about the same amount amount of protein - but one may weigh 60 lbs more than the other.

there is no need to support body fat with increased protein intake that I am aware of.

re: weight loss as a function of caloric math - i'm not sure i agree based on anecdotal evidence. i know skinny folks that eat a ton and i know larger folks that eat less w/ no appreciable difference in exercise routines.

am i the only one that knows folks like this?
