I don't know. Microsoft has managed to instill a "blame the victim" mentality in many (e.g. "This is user-friendly stuff; if you can't get it to work, or it crashes on you, it must be something YOU did"). Even here, among supposedly sophisticated people, one sees the (shocking to me) sentiment that "Anybody dumb enough to open an attachment deserves to lose their data."

JMHO.

Over here in Denmark it seems that most people don't blame Microsoft. It is interesting though, because we have a law, that forbids to leave a car unlocked...

Maybe the virus was just a test. And then suddenly someone doubleclicked it, not knowing what it is. Shouldn't there be a law against computer systems, where a single double-click by someone innocent can generate millions of dollars damage? As long as there is no law against that, MSFT is not responsible.
