Jay, I forgot to mention that my new Dell PC...

...came with a full-fledged version of MusicMatch Jukebox 4.0!!!

If Dell is buying into this market I think that MP3 has arrived big time. I would like to see units come down more in price and memory go down in price and up in capacity. I think the massive volume sales of these items are at least one to two years away.

$99.99 MP3 players together with $49.99 64 MB MMC's or SmartMedia cards are going to fly off the shelf, my friend.

The fact that we are still a ways out from these price points (and price points for higher resolution digital cameras and higher capacity CompactFlash cards are still out of reach of the average consumer) it is possible we could get stuck in this $90-$100 trading range for the next 3 or 4 quarters. Also, until we have some chip production domestically (and the risk of concentrated manufacturing in Taiwan abates) we may remain discounted by analysts.

I am content with waiting a year to break the $100 mark more emphatically, but I am not altogether happy with the prospect.
