Sit through the discussion and let them explain the technicalities. Basically, it is just a much more streamlined process and saves data transfer. Just the fact that things are not being widely "negotiated" saves much data transfer.

Use html tags. To make BOLD Text use the tags like this (but remove all spaces from the tags):
< b >BOLD Text< /b >

For italics, use "i" instead of "b" in the tags.
