carepedeum2000: There is a difference between Barron's attacking Amazon.com and Cisco. Writing a negative article about Amazon.com is akin to blowing over a straw man -- after reporting ever-widening losses for the past several quarters, many investors already had serious reservations about Amazon's business model. Frankly, I don't think anyone gives a rat's ass about what Barron's thinks about Cisco's valuation and doubt this will have any effect on Monday's action.

So Barrons is the Unibomber du jour? When they set their sites on attacking a stock, it does have an effect, in my opinion. . .so I would also expect a gap down.

Wasn't it last year about this very week, when their Amazon.bomb article came out? I agree with Delphic that it is a pitiful rag. . .and nobody "should" pay attention. . . but I see it as an EXCUSE for a selloff. . . and nothing more.

As an investment news periodical, Barrons makes a great bird cage liner.
