Dan,

I trust technical discussion that I can follow more than I trust pronouncements from Very Important People, even Very, Very Important People.

Then you should definitely be a follower of Jim Handy since he has published at least one book on memory design, holds patents on memory design, lectures on the subject, publishes reports on the technologies, and meets with all of the industry players and has a much larger view of where the industry is going than anyone on this thread.

His view has been that DDR will find niche markets in graphics boards and servers, and that the desktop/workstation markets will go RDRAM. So far he seems to be dead-on w.r.t. the DDR niche markets.

Dave
