Peach, one more thing to check: find a *.mid file on your HD and double click it. Mplayer should play it. If it does, then failure to play midi in SI profiles has something to do with the browser.

If you don't have a *.mid file, maybe you can find one here

Did you get the windows media player to play midi files on SI for you? I was having that problem today and was able to get them to work by reinstalling the player. I also deleted the real player but will reinstall it later and see if that has anything to do with it.
