Metals Commitments Analysis: Spec gold shorts climb 27% New York--May 5--The Commodity Futures Trading Commission commitment of traders report for gold futures showed that over the last two weeks, up to and including Tuesday, large speculators' gold short positions climbed 12,191 contracts or 27% to 51,124 contracts. Over the same period, large spec longs were virtually flat, up 51 contracts to 18,529 contracts.
