Here's what I'm talking about re MSFT counterproposal:

>>... the company was preparing its brief and declined comment on a Washington Post report in Sunday's editions outlining approaches said to be in a draft. The paper reported that Microsoft will propose:

-- It be required to provide software developers information they need to build their products in a timely way. The judge had found that Microsoft did not provide such information equally to its customers.

-- It permit computer makers to tinker with the computer desktop, the screen consumers see when they first run Windows.

-- It permit computer makers to conceal access to Microsoft's Internet Explorer Web browser. The company says the browser is integrated and cannot be removed. Jackson ruled the firm illegally tied its browser to Windows.

-- It be prohibited from making restrictive agreements that induce others to promote its products over those of others.<<

DCBEN, I think you've read the PR correctly. The question is, Why would IDX put out this kind of a press release? It's strange. There is an announced MSFT-I/O deal, so it shouldn't matter that Identix stands ready to be the MSFT biometric standard. Looks like IDX is ready to take on Microsoft and I/O, which is kind of amazing.
