Sedona Networks Launches Partnership Program

KANATA, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 8, 2000--

- Developer of Industry's First Services-Aware Architecture Launches Partnership Program To Offer Greater Variety and Choice in Services

Internetworking Architecture(TM)-Enabled Access Solutions -

Sedona Networks, a leading developer and manufacturer of services-aware access network solutions, today announced its alliance initiative, the Sedona Internetworking Partners Program. The alliance program will enable rapid deployment of services-aware networks through technology transfer that brings the benefits of Sedona Networks' distributed network intelligence to customer premises equipment developed by leading vendors.

"We are aggressively moving forward to extend services-aware solutions to service providers who are seeking to competitively address the needs of their customers," said Joseph Elchakieh, Sedona's President and CEO. "This partner program establishes an environment where our customers will have the full benefit of a services-aware architecture without forcing them into single-vendor solutions. Partnerships with complimentary vendors will enable service providers to meet the growing demands of voice and data communications - while differentiating their service offerings to penetrate unlimited new markets."

Sedona's alliance program is aimed at supporting the company's continuing efforts to make available, and rapidly bring to market, the best in network access solutions. The Sedona Internetworking Partners Program represents a cross-section of industry disciplines and companies with a common vision: to advance the evolution and quality of voice and data communications.

The company is aggressively targeting integrated access device (IAD) and customer premises equipment (CPE) vendors who offer expertise in integrated voice and data solutions and substantial experience in selling products to service providers. Services-aware network architecture dramatically increases a service provider's ability to turn up high-value, mass-customized services to vertical small- and mid-size business markets by simplifying network design, provisioning and management, and dramatically reducing initial, operational and life-cycle costs of the network.

"Service providers are seeking ways to leverage their existing infrastructure to speed the delivery of revenue-generating network services at reduced cost, and Sedona's Services Internetworking Architecture(TM) (SIA) enables them to do just that - while offering quality of any service or bundle to small and medium-size business customers," said Manouch Khezri, Sedona's Vice President of Business Development and Sales. "We are partnering with key vendors to ensure that our customers get the best possible solutions."
