Joan, well that's basically what i'd do as well. buy the strongest ones as soon as you get the feeling the baby's being thrown out with the bathwater, which is what inevitably occurs when sentiment on the sector turns negative.
however, in view of the vast US private sector indebtedness, i won't be in a hurry to act. we still don't know how things will shake out in a recession, with the consumer and corporations as overextended as they now are. could make for a number of lean years for the banks...
