I'd better clarify publicly so nobody misunderstands Silicon Investor's position regarding the public posting of PM's:

I did spend quite a bit of time reading the thread you host, though, and came away with
the opinion that it's a clash of personalities, and not anything that falls under the
umbrella of the Terms of Use.

There are no rules about PM's. Though I feel it's one of the worst possible breaches of
netiquette to disclose the contents of private communications, it is not a violation of the
rules here, and even if it were, it'd be nearly impossible to enforce.

In other words, though I appreciate that there are instances in which public disclosure of PM's is the appropriate thing to do (threats, for example), I personally find inappropriate disclosure of private messages very distasteful. But it's not in the rules, wouldn't be very enforceable, and I don't think it *should* be in the rules.

[Addendum] Most, if not all of this morning's posts to this thread have been off-topic.

With the creation of a new thread, this battle of wills shouldn't be occurring anymore. Please return to the stated topic.

Also, I have been asked to blank out this thread's header, but will have to consider this for a bit. At first blush, I think it would be contrary to the best interests of Silicon Investor and the denizens of this thread. No need to "kill" one thread because another thread has been added.

I welcome (PM'd) opinions regarding this thread's header.

Regards,

SI Admin (Bob)
