Bill Wexler was irresponsible and made false and misleading statements re VLNC. He claimed it was a stock fraud and that management was fraudulently promoting the stock. It takes both longs and shorts to make a market, but Mr. Bill went over the line.

I love your comment "It's a tad personal."

That 'personal' feeling driving some to short the stock says a lot, I think.

Give us a break, Paul: Bill Wexler wasn't "driven from the SI thread". He's a 'big boy' a self-styled stock maven who can allegedly pick winners and losers. And he rather foolishly kept calling the stock a fraud. But when I and others challenged him to put his money where his mouth was, and take a direct wager on the stock which he claimed was going to $ 1.00 per share, he declined. And he covered in the $ 30s, if his post was to believed.

And as regards shorting, while I remain long and quite convinced of the company's ultimate success, I do not mind and have never minded people who short the stock. You included. This is about one's bet on the future of a company with a somewhat 'checkered' history moving from development stage to commercial production in a very large market. I have thought and think that Valence will emerge as the leader in this market (Gould, Het, and Saft won't, bo be sure, but there is certainly potential Asian competition out there), and can be patient awaiting the buildup of commercial production.

Good luck in your monthly shorting exercises...

Paul: "VLNC longs were at least partially responsible for driving Bill Wexler from S/I not too long ago.."

Whaaaaa??? Me thinks you give us VLNC longs too much credit in that department. We didn't effect his "fall from grace." Mr. Bill's mouth did that for him.

Meanwhile, with VLNC I see nothing to alter my opinion that this equity's still stuck in my aforementioned ask gambit range. Now let's see how the week plays out.
