For the new investor you are right. Unfortunately the old investor has to sit on his hands waiting for his stocks to come back while the new investor makes a killing. But if you were an old investor and picked up some energy stocks weeks ago AFTER selling the techs at the end of March, you got the best of both worlds. Add a few shorts in the pot and you stewed up quite a brew. Wish I held some of my shorts, left about 30% on the table.. but the cup was 70% full so I'll look at it that way.
