Do you need the trading profits, or do you merely want them? The risks at this point are weighted towards need, and not want.

...I am thinking about selling puts here, making sure of course that I have plenty of capacity to be put to....

Jeff, I've posted before my concern that we ae in a down market and therefore not exactly a PUT sellers dream.

But if you must, my suggestion is pick a solid earner, give yourself plenty of cushion, stay near term, wait for a dip (see bollinger bands), and have the capacity to take it.
