Thoughts of MSFT and NetScape flashed through my mind when I first read the I/O announcement. However, as hard as I tried, I couldn't rationalize biometric log-on passwords as anything, but integral to an O/S. And, if it's already in the computer for that reason, I don't see why it can't be used for any other purpose. Probably the only things keeping MSFT from immediately taking over this market is the fear of image and the DOJ. MSFT already has an "all too powerful" image and competitors could easily play it into a big brother type deal. Second, I don't think MSFT wants to take a chance of complicating their legal affairs with anything outside their current strategic focus. Regards, pmcw
