Gerald, RE: If this were true then no one would have paid attention to Elaine Garzarelli (however you spell that) for very long. A single good call is remembered and touted for years, while numerous bad calls are quickly forgotten.

My feeling is different on this matter. I think that there isn't much long term memory in the market at all, good or bad.

Elaine G. fell from grace very quickly once she made a couple of bad calls. She was fired from her job at Lehman, and her investment management firm never registered much more than a small blip on the radar screen.

The best indicator that she has no credibility out there at all is the fact that she started hawking a newsletter.
