Not to support anything fem might have said (I have her on ignore), but I think you're way off base blaming MSFT for viruses. (Agreed, it's more of a "trojan horse" in this case than a true virus, yes, but close enough for nomenclature purposes.) Microsoft and Windows get targeted by junior hackers for one reason: so they can affect as many people as possible with one shot. There were plenty of Mac viruses in the late 80's, and if Apple had maintained a position of dominance they'd still be a major target. Same goes for UNIX (lest we forget the Robert Morris worm??), only we'd add on top of it the comedy of every UNIX vendor blaming every other UNIX vendor for the latest security hole to be exploited. Much like what we're likely to get if and when we do break Softee up into Tweedlemicro and Tweedlesoft.
