And no Gerald, Solaris doesn't work the same way. You can buy a box from Sun w/o an OS should you want to run Sparc Linux, BSD or older Solaris.

Since when? Just a matter of weeks ago your Sun thread goddess cheryl williamson was defending the fact that you couldn't buy a Sun box without Solaris by saying that Sun didn't sell hardware, just solutions. Was she wrong?

This is ridiculous. If you buy a car and never use the cup holders, you don't get your money back. Car manufacturers would be stupid to sell cars without cup holders, because 95% of the people that buy cars want cup holders. Just because you don't want to use the software that comes with the computer, doesn't mean you should get a refund. 95% of computer buyers want to use this software, thus the computers are sold with it.

This board is 90% escapees from some kind of loony bin.
