For example, they stress the pooling of interests, well in all the acquisitions CSCO has done I think, including this one only 3 where Poolings. Looking to the future it appears poolings wont even be allowed anymore. Yet they went on and on about Poolings for a company that has rarely done
them and is unlikely to do anymore. They dont tell you that now do they. JDN

Since you worked professionally as an accountant, JDN, it is good to hear your point of view.

In late 1996 or early 1997, I read Barrons glowing report on the wonderful future that was going to belong on HWP. After I read the article, I thought an investment in HWP would reap wonderful profits. Unfortunately, Asia went down the drain, where HWP was heavily invested, up sprung the Internet, Dell cut into HWP's PC business, and Sun nibbled away at HWP's server business with "the Starfire". HWP couldn't put it together, although I think they pulled it apart because they split off part of the company, did they not?

Since then, I haven't paid any attention to Barrons, but if you think Barrons published a sensational article about CSCO in order to sell magazines, your point of view is as valid as the article that was written by a journalist.

At least you were certified as an accountant.

If the editor-in-chief of Barrons wanted to publish an unbiased opinion about CSCO's acquisitions, he should have published two opposite view points.

Instead,he chose for publication the negative point-of-view.

Sincerely,
