jmootx, the parallels are astounding, but of course today's market is still different in many ways. i am a bit worried by the fact that the NAZ seems to follow also the Nikkei's decline in early '90, albeit a bit compressed in time. if that relationship continues to hold, then the recent lows should be broken. the one thing all those periods have in common are rising interest rates at a time when valuations are extraordinarily high. remember what i said about the a/d line divergence last year...i speculated it would reach a fibo multiple of its 28/29 predecessor and it's well on its way of doing so. right now it has already lasted 1,5 times as long. perhaps everything is really a degree or two larger, in time as well as in price. scary thought actually.
