OTOT,Wayne Van Scoyoc, many people find problems with the CPI that it would be too long to get into in this forum. Suffice it to say though that inflation is a phenomenon that has been part of human nature for centuries. It is never going to disappear. The issue at hand now is that most economists feel we are getting into inflation territory and that the Fed will keep raising rates until it feels it has achieved it's purpose.
