amir, your success story is one of thousands. i was reading the newest zone book in an airport and a lady said, "it really works, you know" out of the blue. i know.

i don't know if all dr sears says is true. i do know (for me, at least):

1. it is easy to lose weight on the zone w/o exercise and w/o hunger.
2. muscle soreness is WAAAAAAY down from 15 years ago (reduced lactic acid build up in my muscles - i think lactic is right).
3. i crash mentally when i'm not on it.
4. the feeling of wellness and energy i get from eating is awsome.
5. the zone is a running joke amongst friends b/c i'm literally buzzing when i'm strict about it.
5. it hasn't helped my personal organization and planning skills so i struggle a little to plan ahead. the incentive is there, though.

the good thing about the zone is that you can you start back up with your next meal - even after slacking off for a while.

i'm curious... did you change anything else beside your diet to lose the body fat (eg, increase exercise)? did you get your blood work done to see if it improved?

ps - balance bars are a neat snack for less than a buck. price costco has a high protein bar for about $1 - nice to add some carbos to. hey, a diet that allows you to eat beef jerky as a food group can't be all bad. ;-)
