OT - newbie question.

A person has registered a URL which is very close to a startup company that I am currently working for. We would like to use the URL which he has registered to send users to our page (since they may mistype that URL when trying to enter our name). The person whi registered the similar URL is not currently using the URL for anything, as far as I can tell.

I spoke with the person that registered the similar URL, he indicated he may use it in the future, or he may not. He has no interest in letting us use it, but may sell it to us for a fee. He said he recently sold another URL for a significant sum. He sounds like a URL squatter.

So......do I have any recourse, other than pay through the nose, to get that URL from him????

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
