re: removing excess: Lots of excess has been removed, but very selectively. The high-fliers that have performed perfectly are still in the stratosphere. But any uncertainties or disappointments, and the stock gets chopped in half. Nervous investors have no patience, and no forgiveness. 2 of the 3 biggest software companies in the world (MSFT and SAP) have just recently seen their bubbles deflated. Semis and semi-equip still flying high, but the iburncash.com stocks are being massacred. It's getting possible again for a value investor to find quality growth stocks to buy. Selectively.
