SB (SideBar)---> Anyone else think this is odd...?? On one hand, the Administration in DC is openly congratulating everyone in sight because we have a 30 year 3.9 low unemployment rate...
(I note that news article was somewhat short lived yesterday)
then:
I notice that NO ONE asks or talks about the TYPE of jobs are being created....are they high paying tech jobs that can be filled....or low pay service jobs that no one can find people for....
then:
yesterday and probably till the 17th...LOTS of discussion re "interest rates rising".....(because inflation is happening)...from those close to the Administration in DC

question: did welfare rolls shrink?

question: did welfare payouts shrink?

question: Don't we want to have low unemployment?

question: For example....Coke has raised the price of their canned product in just the last few weeks....about $1.00++ per 12/pk....I talked to someone at the plant today...asked about it....confirmed it...they said they understood the price of sugar and aluminum have increased dramatically.... sugar...in diet coke??? aluminum....why the same increase in plastic bottles...??

If the 'old economy companies' terminate higher paying positions so as to keep the bottom line looking better....and can't find entry level (low pay) employees...what happens?

If the 'new economy companies' need to hire people and in particular, technically trained people....but either can't find them, or try to do without so they can eventually become profitable....what happens?

OK....now, I feel better....just had to have a place to vent...and actually hope there are some smarter heads than mine to help get me pointed in the right direction...economy wise....
