To that end, some have even suggested that Chief Executive John Chambers would use a chief operating officer to help with the day-to-day details of running a sprawling Cisco while Chambers traipses across the globe, talking up customers and governments.

"All John's friends are telling him it's time to get a COO in there," said one industry consultant who knows Chambers. "They need a senior executive who knows how to manage a hydra that is constantly trying to eat itself."

I read the Motley Fool post. He attacks Donlan. One of the most valuable lessons I have learned about investing is when someone reacts emotionally to a negative article, watch out. If the reaction comes from company management, they are usually trying to hide something. If the reaction comes from an investor, they are investing based on emotion rather than analysis. So I see the Motley Fool post as a clue that indicates CSCO is overvalued. FWIW
