(LU) licensed its Lucent Enhanced Perceptual Audio Coder, or ePAC, to New York-based ClickRadio Inc. Financial terms weren't disclosed. In a press release Tuesday, Lucent said ClickRadio will use the ePAC for its free, personalized Internet-enhanced digital radio service. ClickRadio expects to unveil its digital radio service later this month. In a press release Tuesday, the company said the T8206, T8207, and T8208 chips are designed for use in digital subscriber line access multiplexer, wireless base stations and other equipment. The products were developed to assist users speed the time to bring products to market at reduced electronics cost. CelXpres function as bridge technologies between a system backplane and Lucent's WildWire asymmetric digital subscriber line central office chip set. T8206 is currently shipping in sample quantities, while T8207 will be sampling in June. Production quantities for both chips are scheduled to start shipping by July. T8208 samples will be generally available in the fourth quarter. T8206, T8207, and T8208 are priced at $48, $53, and $61 respectively in quantities of 10,000. Huawei Technologies of China and nine other equipment makers are using CelXpres for designing purposes. ************** I wonder if the other nine are also from China. #3 Lucent's New Enterp Unveils PortalPathway System Dow Jones Newswires MILPITAS, Calif. -- Lucent Technologies Inc.'s (LU) Enterprise Network Group unit introduced the portalPathway, a set of applications designed to give users faster ways to access electronic-business communications. In a press release Tuesday, the maker of communications equipment and systems said mobilePath is the first portalPathway application. MobilePath has person locator, pager and phone messaging features.
