"how do you want your site to be different than 100Hot" 100hot, like mediametrix measures visitors. 10sites defines 10 narrow categories, analyses many sites available in this category and shows 10 of the best. The selection is personal. Speed. Quality. No broken links. No pop up screens. No registration. (some exceptions apply such as NY-Times, which has good quality, but free, one time registration. Gnet gets a priority placement if they have good sites in a category. I tried to fit in webmarket.com but they have a logo that is impossible to transport to another site. Some sites offer special logos for links, e.g. Fodor.com that makes it simple. I would love to include webmarket, because it is the inktomi commerce platform, which is now not present in the shopping page. Most people know two or three sites in a category. Not 10. So it is like a bookmark page. I had my own bookmarks, but after two years, it became a spaghetti if links. So 10 links in 10 categories. And....... 10 languages. 10sites.com has been registered in 10 languages. E.g. decasites.com (Greek) tiensites.com (Dutch) dezsites.com (Portugees) dixsites.com (French) juusites.com (Japanees) now all lead to the same site, but one day, they will show a specific language site. This project is part of a larger project. I follow the inspiration of my favorite author Marguerite Yourcenar. She said "borders are just administrative divisions". So I will focus on language, not on countries. In the year 2003 it will be 100 years ago that Marguerite was born. And I will set up a site dedicated to her, yes, yourcenar.com The quality of her writing has me so much indebted that I will spend a lot of time to get her word out. She is pure quality.
