One thing I just noticed:

Matsushita will launch the Panasonic SV-SD70 and SV-SD01 audio players on June 30 and July 10, producing 3,000 of each per month, before putting them on sale in Europe and the United States in July or August, a company spokesman said.

Matsushita sure isn't planning for these to take off in Japan, just selling 3,000 per month for the first two months. They don't know it yet, but I'm sure they are already sold. <VBG>

SANDISK AND TOSHIBA FINALIZE JOINT VENTURE

Toshiba Corporation and SanDisk Corporation (Nasdaq: SNDK) today signed an agreement to create a new semiconductor company -- FlashVision LLC -- to produce advanced flash memory, utilizing fabrication space at Dominion Semiconductor in Manassas.
