Re lie vs "honest mistake," I know we both understand that at the time he posted the pamphlet "information," PROLIFE himself believed it was true. And re the spousal abuse lie analogy-- of course no one is discredited who is not responsible for designing the lie, or knowingly promulgating it, or later acting as an apologist or obfuscator to obscure the evil of the act committed by their fellow spousal-abuse advocates! BTW, Neocon, you might recall that at no time did I describe anti-choice people as inculpated by that act (not being a complete fool.) Each time the subject arose, I spoke against "the subsection of your movement responsible for that lie." Now that it has been exposed, I would change that to "the subsection of your movement responsible for promulgating that lie or not taking steps to see that its promulgation is called to the attention of those who are responsible for or may have been deceived by it." I am wondering if anyone on this thread might provide us with the name and address of the pamphlet's sponsoring organization and join me in writing a letter to them calling the error to their attention? There are decent, honest individuals associated with that organization who would be mortified to know that their pamphlet contained that grotesque humungous-embryo/teensy-weensy-adult propaganda item. I will be going away tomorrow for a few days. It would sure be a nice courtesy to a fellow warrior if this discussion, or any rehashings of it, could be put on hold until my return! So far those who are on board with my trying to get the exchange published are you, Lather and me. Any others who will agree, let me know, please.
