while it's true that the index put/call ratio was constructive yesterday, volume was so low as to be totally negligible.
gold IS a safe heaven in currency turmoil, but it mainly keys off the dollar, i.e. runs inverse to the dollar normally. it's actually encouraging that it didn't move lower in spite of the parabolic spike in the dollar index.
