So far I'm still short the morning buys.. I like the stocks I shorted ironically, but I won't go against the prevailing trend. I still think that guy was treading on thin ice when he called CSCO a buy BEFORE earnings. That seems irresponsible to me. I have some CSCO calls which of course are losing money but not that much and I can't lose more than maybe 1/2 the 10 contracts I have. That means we traders who are supposedly 'speculators' are treading more carefully with earnings plays than the mutual fund managers. That doesn't bode right. I don't care if CSCO is up 5 tomorrow, its not safe to hold a high profile stock like this through earnings unless its a small option position. He should have said wait for earnings to come out and get in. If CSCO does indeed do as well as managers say, then what is 5-6% gap up compared with a future prospect of 100. Because they need the extra impact of the earnings play, so people remember, wow he called that right before earnings, what financial prowess. That reeks of desperation rather than certitude.
