tom,

some thoughts and questions for the thread.

i think the low volume means sellers are few,,,and buyers are waiting. if we crash,,,i suppose that'll bring more sellers,,,but i don't think so. volume down has been low,,,and when the all clear is sounded,,,i think we'll get a rip roaring rally that may last for a short time,,,,then i think we probably should all go to the beach for the summer.

either that or no one is left with any money and can't add to their positions....then we're on the cliff looking down.

what's everyone doing here? watching and waiting for the all clear signal to dive in and buy? or waiting over that cliff hoping the lemmings don't push everyone over?

me,,,i've been mostly on the sidelines. have added some RJR, AU, FAX, VVR...mostly for the dividends....it was either those stocks or buy bonds. RJR has great book value and great dividends,,,AU has potential to take off if gold ever rally and it's a good hedge for inflation,,also paying 10% or so...FAX has ties to the Aussie dollar and probably don't have much more to fall...and earns 13%...VVR pays 10%.

haven't done much with techs except bought a little HLIT and PEB with covered calls written.

i have money left to invest,,,but don't like this market because the whipsaw makes me dizzy...so i think i'll head to the beach early.

long term stuff (20 years) in various mutual funds that will be untouched...even if we melt down.

thanks.

mike
