Re: 1 3/4 is not near worthless. You are only down about %40 at present, not %100 which you will be if you get stubborn about not taking your losses

Gopher,
A 40% loss is near worthless when you expect to get a 500% gain in less than a month. :-)

Seriously, when I make trades, I write down my objectives at the beginning and find this helpfull for making future decisions. In April I liquidated all of my April options and was sitting on a pile of cash. I decided that I should put most of my money in July and Jan options as I expected volitility to last. The premiums were extremely high for July and Jan options, but I was still expecting homeruns (TM Sanders). If I wanted to hit any grandslams (TM Sanders) I was going to have to buy some May options. I bought with all risk capital. I still think AMD could get a rally before the expiry and I could end up ok, we'll see...

Gopher Broke...re:Don't let inertia rule your decision. If you had the $3500 cash now would you really put it all in the May 90 calls? If you would not then why are you letting it all ride? Maybe you should pull say half out and let it ride another day?

These are very wise words indeed. I've done what Chic has done dozens of times earlier in my trading career and came away with nothing. With that $3500 one could buy one heck of an Athlon system (or save it for a Thunderbird system).
Or move it into May or June calls.
