i'm reading in today's sf chronicle business section (and can't find the article online to link to, darn it!) in a piece titled, 'Gates Looks For Softer Sentence', this quote...

"Bill Gates, Microsoft chairman and co-founder, made a case against the breakup of Microsoft in this week's issue of Time magazine, saying that viruses, such as the 'ILOVEYOU' one would be harder to protect against if his company were split."

i'd like to read more of that article...

Yep, more than anything else, this virus incident has reminded me not to get lazy about making system backups.

I do a weekly backup to DAT tape and need to come up with something fast and easy for daily backups, maybe over the wire to a second PC.
