De Guzman is still alive on an island in the southern philippines (which he bought and may be under the protection of the Islamic fundamentalists there). This was told to me today be someone who knew (knows) him well. He also saw the body (supposedly de Guzman) which was recovered from the swamp and he says that it looked nothing like him. Lest we forget. Junaidi.
