Return of the Jedi - Morgan reacts to Barron's:

Dow Jones Newswires -- May 9, 2000

J.P. Morgan's Geiling Bullish On Cisco Systems
Dow Jones Newswires

....When asked about the software company's high price/earnings ratio, Geiling said investors have to look back "and see what this company is about." The high P/E ratio is the result of "massive top-line growth with profitability," said Geiling, who added that one would be "hard-pressed to find any company in history with growth like that."

When speaking on the recent Barron's article that suggested Cisco is overvalued, Geiling said he thinks the market overreacted to the report. "It is easy to look at the stock and say they've been too aggressive and they've paid too much for their acquisitions," but they wouldn't be a market leader otherwise, said Geiling. He thinks Cisco's many acquisitions will profit the company in the long-term by adding to internal products.
