And you know all about the negotiations because 1.you were THERE or 2. you believe everything you read in the paranoia press.

I have NO idea where the negotiations were, myself- and I don't believe ANYONE who says they know at this point- because EVERYONE who says anything about it has an ax to grind.

Well, i don't believe that - L zaro was quoted two days before the extraction crowing to some FNAC-type political group that he would not give the boy up peacefully no matter what ... and very early on he made bellicose statements to that effect .... if he hadn't, Castro would have had nothing to work with in his own propaganda-making ... takes two to tango, and the drunk invited old Fidel to the dance.

Also, Marisleysis mouthed it up earlier that week that "You think we have only cameras in the house, well think again" - or words to that effect.

Combined with that howling mob outside, it just wasn't going to go amicably.
