Mani,

I need to pick an island for my retirement :)

In case we are dividing islands, I will take Manhattan. I think Ted was partial to Cuba. Cuba has one disadvantage though: It comes as a package with Castro included.

Mani,

There is estimate that there will be more than 250 million people more on the Internet in the next two years. I am not sure as to how many more CPU that translates to, but that is a whole lot of extra CPU on top of all the upgrades and non internet related CPU's.

Isn't this about equal to the number of computers sold per year (multiplied by 2)?

Maybe they count that everyone of these computers will connect to Internet. Or that some of the computers out there that are not connected, will be connected in the next 2 years.

Joe

How much money can AMD make if Dresden is at full capacity, ASP's are good and AMD is selling everything it can make. What if at that time flash is still selling out due the relentless demand for the wireless industry and AMD is working on another megafab next to Dresden. What if we give it a PE of 30? I need to pick an island for my retirement :)"

Comment: As well, since Q3, each 100,000 increment in Athlons has contributed about $0.10 to the bottom line...The Athlon increment for Y2000 based upon Q2, Q3 and Q4 targets of 1.8, 3.6 and 7.2 million Athys is 9 million or and additional $9.00/share, on topo of $1.00/share/quarter at the base of 1.2 million Athys/quarter assuming all else the same (which is overly simplistic at this stage for sure but sets out the potentially favourable future environment)...i.e a possible Y2000 eops of $13/share...

CISCO earns $0.14 and trades at $60, AMAT looks to earn $0.55 and trades at $90, Intel earns $0.70 and trades at $120...What should AMD trade at earning $1.15 and with such phenomenal growth prospects based upon world leading flash and microprocessor division outlooks? I'm with you, at some point, it will catch up...

Below $120, AMD looks like a tremendous bargain measured by any yardstick! That island may not be that far away!
