Al,

However according to Eric, Abit is working on a BIOS upgrade for the Abit KA7 and quote, "a BIOS upgrade will solve this problem and [our] BIOS team is working on that right now." For Abit KA7 owners, this isn't a firm commitment from Abit, but rather a sign of hope for a potential upgrade path.

Being a an owner of Abit BP6, my advice is: don't hold your breath.

My take on upgrading KX133: It has been on the market for only a few months. The earliest people start considering an upgrade is probably a year after the purchase of the original system. A Year from KX133 introduction, there will be no Slot A CPUs, if there were any, these would be Thunderbirds and you would not want them anyway. You will think about the newest Mustangs, which will never be made in Slot A configuration. In a year, DDR will be standard, hard disks will be UDMA-100, USB will be 2.0, and may actually work, and to get any of these goodies, you will have to get a new motherboard anyway.
