Thanks.... Japan and HongKong both down 2% again tonight even after supposed good CSCO earnings. Are they finally going to crush this bloated pig market this week??

Demise of new economy predicted before year's end

There is tipped to be a further shakeout of technology and communications stocks on the Australian Stock Exchange.

Assistant general manager with Mercantile Mutual, Will Buttrose, issued the warning at a Brisbane business function this morning.

He has forecast the demise of up to 75 per cent of so called "new economy" stocks by the end of the year.

"The new technology stocks are going to get in trouble some more," Mr Buttrose said.

"I believe that most of the technology media and telecommunications stocks that's Telstra and all of the rest of them are still facing more shakeouts over the next three or four months and that's going to effect our stock market."
