From Briefing.com (another known ATHM basher):

Excite@Home (ATHM 19 15/16 +2 7/16) We are hearing from sources that one sell-side analyst has squawked that the Comcast CEO's comments were taken out of context, and that the CEO was simply discussing the AT&T purchase of ATHM shares in hindsight, and not discussing a Comcast purchase of ATHM now or in the future. Issue rallies on rumors of a takeover by cable company Comcast Corp (CMCSK); also a major short-squeeze taking place.

I think we have become so paranoid with this situation that we have tried to think of every possible scenario. The one constant is that we all agree that broadband will rule eventually and At Home will run like the wind one AOLers and the rest of the country and world for that matter get on the bandwagon. Once the sem-equipment stocks get hammered, the market will turn, they are one of the only sectors that really haven't gotten slammed yet. I would imagine that ATHM, CHTR and the rest will have their day in the sun again and sooner than we all think.

Regards,

Rob
