Political money is not the issue here. The issue is whether Beijing will MISCALCULATE USA's reaction before the attack due to Clinton's slickness in dealing with Beijing. It would be the greatest tragedy of the 21st century if attack is based on China's miscalculation that USA will not defend Taiwan but the opposit comes true. I think you are right....the US/Clinton has courted Red China enough so that the Red Chinese think that they have a proposal for marriage. However if they attack Taiwan, I would be very surprised not to see the US come to Taiwan's defense........ What the Red Chinese don't realize is that the US has never filed for divorce (from Taiwan) and like many spouses, never will......to much community property. ted
