Re: My extend of support for my "homeland" is that I root for their hockey teams. (both Czech and Slovak).

Joe,
You didn't mention that Pittsburg and your boy Jagr got eliminated tonight. And what about Hasek?

Seriously, you answered exactly what I was talking about. You (and everyone else from a comunist country) like the people from your country and root for them in any cause.

I believe that you (and others) hope your country's government will turn for the better because the people are really great.

Aren't I right here? You are patriotic for your people, but not for the government?

I never in any way supported the Communist regime.

Joe,

Supporting your country is a lot different from supporting the regime. I've been a few times in Czechoslovakia over the past years, and I like the country and the people there. They have a more intellectual and cultural attitude and a pacifist way of living. But I don't know anything about politics there.

WRT china, you can never underestimate the power of China if they decide to go in a war, and US should do everything to warn them before. Like I said before, the best prevention will be increasing trade between Taiwan and the mainland, and between China and the west. Make everybody loose by going into war, and they will think twice before.

Once a war is started, it has his own dynamics, and I'm very scared about that.
